so we all agree no one can make ordinary characters this season because we already have fish type things, tree folk hybrids, mutant scorpian whatevers and MORE... so be creative this season and make something weird and intresting. Yeah, it's good to have some normal race characters. Really, a character's fame should come from what they've accomplished, not who their parents are. Talys was a random human with random human parents from Eines Mien... _________________ "Use your brain, or I'll use it for you." -Enyalie |

I've got to agree with Cora. Revan started out basically as nothing more than a weird elf hybrid, but he earned his recognition, the same with all other major heroes. _________________ "Of course you fight fire with fire, you fight everything with fire." - Jaya Ballard

Hello Doug:
I was looking over all of those Magic Cards. Wow thats a lot of work you put in. I had a comment about some of the cards and since you asked for comments I ma posting them.
Don't forget the rules of Sub-GMing on the list I gave all of you who run your own worlds and run events for me: Be creative not inventive. Basically, you walk a fine line when you interpret a world. It is fine to make something in an adventure like "an evil powerful Ork from Blackspire who is a mage." It is another thing to name him Bradikk and start inventing histories for this ork. The reason I am warning you is that people are likely to read over your magic cards and like it or not they are going to try to learn about my world by reading them. Thus, you are obligated to base your cards from my world on resources and real events. Be creative, and make up "gereralized" things like a card called "Orkish Veteran" with the ability: Orkish Veteran cannot block Legendary creatures. Then add the vlavor text "The most valuable thing he learned was how to run away from heros." This is a generalization about FanWar and Roekron, it isn't a specific event that people thing actually happened. What do you know about Blackspire that suggests that it is a Black and Red Land... what are you basing your card designs on? These are things that players will want to know so that they can make more sense out of them. If you need more material, go here

There is a lot that you can use that is verifiable in my world without making things up.
Also, it might be useful to mark the cards somehow with a symbol or watermark for the different game worlds they are from. For example, if something is from Crestfall perhaps it has a different set marker so that people can sort them by world and see how a whole world fits together. Just a thought.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. you are absolutly right Chris, I didn't even think of that, my bad. I've added a bit of a disclaimer to the wasteland leg creatures and I've added one (and a link to fanwar.com) to my main page. I'm not sure what else I can do short of directly removing the cards. I apologise for the mistake, was kinda bad... ooops, thanks for pointing that out _________________ Doug
