hey chris, you were talking about limiting how many potions you could have. Why not have make it so that the more levels in alchemy you have, the more potions you can carry around? _________________ ~Jake Reynolds |

Well I'm back and I was thinking about another improvement (monster skill). We have to clarify what things can see where. Like right now trolls have dark vision so they can see in the dark but does anyone know that? Also somethings have low light vision (I think) so they can see further away from lantern light and such. _________________ Famous Fanwar last words: "I think that's the answer to the riddle." ; "oh s h i t" ; "lets go right for a change" ; "He doesn't look to tough." ; "just smash it open!" ; "Chris I'm opening the door." |

Jake? bad idea, since higher level characters should be able to carry many potions so when noobs get ko'd they can keep playing, and if u don't have palidins or life mages u need them potions. Also, personally, i wouldn't get Alchemy and if someone is trying to focus on a small group of trade/crafts, its a pain to get levels in alchemy just to carry around potions. A better idea is, potions go by level, and maybe alchamy can influence it a little, but then the rules start getting more complex and harder to follow. _________________ Seb rarara yay woohoo!!!!!!!!!! |

Here's an idea to balance knights out: charge does AV=0 (or UB if u have Trample) after the first hit, but you have to keep running in a straight line (after the first hit). I suggest this because Assassins get AV=0 at level four, and they don't have to run for 5 seconds before striking, so the power level is a tad uneven. _________________ Seb rarara yay woohoo!!!!!!!!!! |

Ive been looking at the amazon skills and after looking at combat shimmering for a while I realized that it is almost useless. At 4th level you get +2 av, and when it becomes usefull at 9th lvl (+4 av), almost all of the things that you fight as some form of av 0 or ub. Also, it only works wile you are standing still. and the pcs dont really do much of that. Maby if you had to spend a mana to use it, and it lasts for 4x your ror or something _________________ ~Jake Reynolds |

I'm sorry but what you just said is bull bacause not alot of things have av=0 or ub. Also it is perfect for things like armor wound. Also it is good because it gives it to your allies armorwithout counting as armor so that lets mages have chain to full depending on what lvl you are. I have been in many situations that the tide of battle has turned because of combat shimmering so it is a fine skill as it is now.
also with sebs idea what are you trying to balance? It seems like you are just making it harder for the knights because they have to keep running to do trample but assasins just have it for a certain weapon all the time. I just need to know how you are trying to balance it. _________________ Famous Fanwar last words: "I think that's the answer to the riddle." ; "oh s h i t" ; "lets go right for a change" ; "He doesn't look to tough." ; "just smash it open!" ; "Chris I'm opening the door." |

i do like the idea of changing charge and traple the one hit for av=0 is kinda dumb, and i liek to smash lots.

well, what i was thinking was that in a war it would be useful if you want to just plow thru enemy lines, and you don't necessarily have to keep going in a straight line and make use of this "improvement", only if you want to, so it's just a small improvement for knights ( it's most likely useless, now that i think about it because a lot of the hard things pcs fight are 1 big thing, not a sea of little things) Maybe a better improvement is what i just said, except you don't have to run in a straight line.
