I've been a member of various Star Trek play by e-mail games (or Sims, as they are often called) for almost nine years now. In that time I've consistantly stayed with one organization, even though I've branched out and tried others from time to time, this one keeps me around, and I keep coming back to it. It's a large org with lots of members, and lots of game options. They've recently expanded to include non-trek genres also, including Batllestar Galactica, Star Wars, Firefly, and Stargate, with an X-Men sim starting soon also.

The group is known as the Alpha Quadrant Sim Group, or AQSG for short. I am the Second Officer of the group and run one collection of games (known as a fleet, since most games are about life on board a starship or starbase). I've been with that fleet since it started about 8 years ago, and though it's only got about 15 members, it's active and has a few folks who've been around as long as I have.

If you've never played: We have ya covered! There's an Academy game where you can learn and still play a game. Graduation is self-paced, so as soon as you clearly "get it", you're off to a regular game of your choice.
