|
|
I have always been a bit sceptic about multiclassing in D&D, but I have recently begun to see the advantages in it - at least at lower levels.
Especially combining anything with fighter/paladin/barbarian simply for acces to the martial weapon class.
What are your prefered combinations?
And what combos work even at higher levels?

P.S. I am not making this a poll as that would be too many options, and I want arguments/tips. _________________

I had good luck with a Ranger/Rogue combo once. Lots of damage on when sneak attacking a favored enemy. A Ranger/Rogue/Order of the Bow Initiate would probably do well too.
Mostly I've had good luck pairing certain races with certain classes. My current favorite is a half-dragon battle sorceror. Half-troll Barbarian is also a good thing.
Most often I do a primary class with one or two prestige classes. I played a centaur as a monster class, added two levels of ranger and then went with Order of the Bow Initiate. Pretty nasty. I have a Catfolk Scout/Dervish that should be impressive once I get the levels on him.
I tried Ranger/Druid, and didn't end up very good with either one. Mostly I find Fighter is a good secondary class due to the extra feats you get. Anyone else? |

Tony just introduced me to swashbuckler a couple of days ago, Eric and I have been experimenting, combined with the duelist class, can get nice...combine with 1 lvl monk and get some good AC. Tony recommends also slapping on one of the ninja of the cresent moon classes too, lol _________________ Princess Stephanie of the Unicorns

I forgot to mention Tempest and Dervish as an excellent prestige class combo. |

Tempest: Complete Warrior, if memory serves
Dervish: Complete Adventurer
I may have that backwards though.
Edit: I did. Dervish is in CompWarrior, so Tempest is in Comp Adv, which makes more sense because Tempest was based off rangers who do 2 wpn style.
Scout/Dervish seems like a good combo because skirmish will apply on most attacks.
I have a Catfolk (who gets higher speed) Scout (which also gets speed boosts) so I can move farther and gain the bonuses (and get more move speed from Dervish also).
Add Dash and the Run feats and he can haul ass! Actually he's focuing on 2 wpns and scimitars though. Spring Attack is also one for him if I recall right. |

actually, warlock(complete arcane)/rouge do well. Warlocks get 1 or 2 powerful spells like "invisibility for 24 hours" and things like that. Its obvious how that can help a rouge. _________________ ~Jake Reynolds |
