Hello Robert:
Thanks for the great idea to run the Inn, it really adds to the flow of the game. Hopefully, we can get some Storytelling going on and if you run it in the evening as well, people can get exp. for the stories as well. Here are my suggestions.
Tazo Organic Chai Tea (in the box) with Milk: This is "Clava" (see Jherg novels) and can be served hot (off the fire) or cold, (over ice).
Hibiscus Cooler (makes a good Blush Wine- and is great on hot days)
Pomogranite Juice (makes a great red wine- though it is expensive it is really good- especially if cold)
Honest Tea makes a lot of good lite teas that would be good white wine.
Also, Talk to Wade about getting some Apple Juice or Apple Cider. He works on the Bates and Shmit apple farm and can probably bring some for you for a big discount.

I am not sure how many ppls from Willits will be attending, but I know that Br, Rob, myself and possibly Rory will be attending. Does any group of 4 or less ppls want to join and share a campsite? |

Hello Again, I really like the idea of "Clava" if it gets cold i can serve it warm but i will most likely serve it cold, and the Habiscis Cooler i am defenitly gonna make because i have tried it once at a ren fair ad it is a great drink, I was gonna be serveing some cold teas as stuff like rum and burbon(green tea and black tea respectively)unless other ideas come up. I was gonna run the inn at night because i know running from baddies at night is rough on someone and a fire, foods, and drinks can be helpful in that situation. |

Inn at Night:
I think the Inn at night is great but the best times would be at lunch and dinner as well as during events because that is when it is likely to be hot. Hot drinks at night would be much appreciated as well, but the Inn is best if we can have it during the events as well.

The Build:
It is a shame that I put out so much for these builds and then no one shows. I had three people for the first 4 hours... (one of which only came because he thought it was a game day) and then I got three more by the afternoon. This is why it irritates me. People say they cannot pay a donation because they can't afford it. I ask them for another type of donations and they can't bring anything. I go to all the trouble to pay for the park reservation, shop for three days, spend $600 is supplies, load everything we could possibly need into my truck and haul it over there, for three people...
Luckily the numbers picked up for the afternoon and we got a bit more done, but mostly the advantage was that those player learned how to make things. in the end, we did get some key things made, but not as much as I would have liked. Here is what we added to the armory.
1) New Staves (about 10 of them). They serve three function. Bladed, Non-Edged AND Spell Staff. They are made with bamboo, small pipe insulation and fun noodles with a thruster tips. Very effective, very fast, easy to make once you know how. I have materials for about 30 more.
2) New Spear tips (about . Made similar to staves, they are fun noodle with a wedge shaped thruster tip on the end. Fly much better, easier to pull blows (due to lightness) and very accurate, easy to make. I have materials for about 30 more.
3) Old Stype Two Chambered Swords (about . I am bringing back the old two chambered "ork swords." They are surprisingly light, easy for newbs to make, and durable. Kids like them due to lightness, and they are great for junior leagues and for monsters, so the monsters don't take all the good weapons. They also make Looting them pointless, since they are so cheap. They are better for harder hitting players as well. I have materials for about 30 more.
4) Retrofitted Axes and Hammers (about 10). I have a new design for axes and hammers that don't come apart. Brandon fixed many and they work much better.
5) Daggers- same as we have been using (about 10). Easy to make, very much in demand. You can never have too many, like arrows.
6) Circles of Protection. Cut three yellow ropes to size. Have enough for 3 more.
7) Three Mastercraft Shortswords. Taught Cora how to make these. She is going to try to crank some out.
Gave Jeanine supplies to make fireballs, etc. and arrows. She will try to crank them out.
That's it unfortunately. Unless we have a bigger turnout for next Build which is on July 1st, I may just cancel it and work on my own. Not that I don't appreciate all the help from the people I got. It's just a lot of prep for me, and unless I have a lot of hands, it isn't worth the trek over there.

Anderson Valley Fire (also called the Navarro Fire):
It is pretty miserable up here right now, hard to even go outside. I can't see the mountains for the smoke and it is like that all across Mendocino County. However, Molly and I went to the coast yesterday and it was great. Thus I am hoping that Paul Dimick is close enough to the cost to get the coastal wind and sweep away the smoke.
Regarding the Navarro fire. I wish I knew more about it's exact location but there are so many fires in the county (90 to be exact and none of them contained) that info is hard to find. We might have to relocate to Jackson State Forest Horse Camp, if it is unsafe at Paul Dimick, but I will make that call as soon as I have more info on Paul Dimick. As for Willits people, I recommend going to Paul Dimick via the coast route (HWY 20 to HWY 1 to HWY 128). Much less smoke to deal with.

Heat Wave:
It looks like next Tuesday is going to be the middle of a heat wave with temperatures over 101 before and after. If this does not change, I will not be doing FanWar on the 8th, as from experience no one can do anything at that temperature and the weapons suffer greatly. I will keep you posted.

Tuesday is Canceled:
We will have no event on Tuesday, it is too hot. I suggest people find a cool place to lay low. I will likely be on the forums this week if people have extra stuff they want to post in the roleplay thread, but we won't be meeting for a FanWar event on Tuesday.

"about the campout this month could we do atleast one of the days in a evely alined town?
spencer"
This is the place to post this kind of message Spencer, so I moved it here. You missed the last campout so you don't know that we do Celendil, Mithil Grisodedin and Menonass. The first day is Celendil, a Chaotic Good city, and we do Junior/Advanced League all day and into the night. The second day is Mithil Grisodedin and it commonly thought to be a Neutral Evil city. The last day is Menonass which is consider to be Lawful Good. Thus, there is quite an array of alignments to the cities and if you want a particular character to be in a particular city that day, then just make sure to get them there. Currently you are in a Lawful Good city (because you come on Saturdays). If you want to take your character somewhere else, just pay for a ship, teleport, or start walking.

Reminder:
Hello all FanWar Crews:
I am sending you all an email to confirm that we are going on a campout the last week of July (29th-1st) to the Bodega Dunes Campground in Sonoma County. The details are below. You can researve campsite, though they are unscpecified as to the exact location. We want to get there a little early (perhaps 12:00pm) and grab some spots that look good.. We will be staying for three nights, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday we will leave in the morning and will do no gaming, just pack up and head out. A schedule of events follows as well as a cost breakdown. As a reminder, I am not responsible for players who come to the event. You must have an adult at the events who will be your chaparone if you are not over 18. I recommend that you get 7 players together who want to share a campsite and one adult who wants to go camping and then pay that adults way so they go free and are responsible for you. A few important details are that there are showers! There is also drinking water available and town nearbye. For more info call me at 462-6292 or go here
