If we do officially get rid of Kill Zone I will remove it, but since it is still in the rule book I will keep it for now. I would rather players know too much than too little.

|
|
Hello all FanWar Players:
I have created a quick Magic Item Cost Generator. Since the biggest question I get asked is "how much does a Passively Magic... etc. etc. cost?" I thought I would be preemptive and make a program that answers that question for players. It is an Excel spreadsheet for Windows, but if someone want to convert it or create a standalone out of it, great! The link is below:

just wanted to clarify that previous post wasnt me. we considered it and took out killzone because people agreed that combat was more fun that way. it got to be that every battle was swayed by a kill zone, hardly ever came down to anything else, just about everything that ever died , did so from kill-zone. with a little skill, and a weapon actually capable of wounding whatever nasty beastie, you quickly destroy a foe that should have wiped the floor with you and the army you brought with you. also since people playing pc's are more familiar with their abilities on average, they are prone to be less distracted by them, and have an easier time killzoning baddies. in general id say i saw in any given battle 4-6 npc's getting killzoned for every pc that bought the farm that way. and that was for balanced (level and rarity wise) encounters. all that being said, killzone isnt gone for good, its still in the rulebook, it is currently not being observed, if it turns out a lot of people want it back that is always possible, ( also an interesting thought is to make it a passive skill available under certain circumstances, but thats likely to clunky and confusing, as there are a lot of skills out there to begin with. |

Hello people that I do not know
My Name is Lincoln Tremblay MacKay and I have just joined this forum website. I am writing this just so people know me and aren't thinking "Who's this guy?" but you're probably thinking that anyways.
I was introduced to Fanwar for the first time last year at the HSC conference which I am supposing most of you guys are familiar with. Unfortunately I have only attended one all day event (Adult league) during September or sometime near that. If you were there you might remember me as the guy wearing the green ranger cloak and wielding two swords. My winter was really busy oddly but since thats over with expect to see me at most of the events that are all day on the weekends. Whether they are open events or adult league.

I've known about fanwar for about a year but I have only played at the HSC conference in 2008 and played at an all day adult event at Riverfront Park once. So that's about a total of 10/12hrs or so. That's not a lot. However, I've probably read the combined rulebook 15times through by now. So I understand about 97% of the game or so.
Missed information in the first post: I'm 16 and I live in Lodi, CA. That's about a 1.5hr/2hr drive from most of the events.

Yeah. Hopefully there's going to be a few camp outs during the summer.

Hey, just a quick question, me and my boyfriend want to go to the fanwar this Tuesday, Adult League, 4-7pm, Todd Grove. Is this open to the public. Is there anything we should bring? Anything I should know? _________________ Princess Stephanie of the Unicorns
